DIY Baby Christmas Tree

It’s almost Christmas! One of my favorite holidays of the year. What’s not to like? You get to spend time with family, open presents and have amazing and delicious food.

In addition, we have the opportunity to remember and celebrate the birth of Christ! When I was a little girl I was always so happy when it was time to decorate our house for Christmas.

I bet your kids are, as well, very happy and eager to get the tree and decorate it!

Today I want to share a really cute and beautiful craft I worked on this weekend for you and your family! Believe me, your kids are going to love it so much! It’s a Baby Christmas Tree!

Beautiful DIY Christmas Tree Craft perfect for baby’s nightstand

First of all, I want to share the excitement of this post with you guys! I mean, just imagine this beautiful tree on your child’s nightstand during the whole Christmas season.

It would look so adorable and you can, actually, put a real tiny present on it for Christmas day! If I had kids, this would be on my top list for crafts this month! No kidding.

Now, let’s go ahead and get started!

Baby Christmas Tree

Step 1: Put together all the materials

paint, markers, scissors, glue and construction paper
Materials needed to make this Christmas Tree craft!

For this project, we are going to use the following materials.

  • White Card board (for the pain to show)
  • Christmas tree and ornaments shapes – Download  free printable
  • Scissors
  • Kids paint – Use different colors to bring life to the project – or crayons
  • Paint brush
  • Glue
  • Black Marker
  • Optional: Thread and a toothpick

Step 2: Trace, cut and paint trees

step by step for making Christmas tree craft
Trace out the Christmas tree with a marker, then paint.

First, trace – with a black marker – the Christmas Tree shape twice on the cardboard.

If you know how to paint a beautiful Christmas Tree, feel free to do it! Once you have the two trees you are going to cut them – in the middle – halfway through.

You will cut one from the bottom and the other one from the top. After this, paint or color the tree on both sides. When the paint is dried assemble the tree as shown in the picture above.

Step 3: Paint and cut ornaments!

In this step, paint and cut the ornaments. If you want to hang some of them on the tree, use a toothpick – to open a little hole in the ornament – then insert thread and tie a knot.

Step 3: Glue and hang the ornaments!

Finally, glue the ornaments to the Christmas Tree!

This is my favorite part!! Once you have your ornaments cut and ready to hang, place them any place you’d like them to be! After this, put the tree on your child’s nightstand! Note:  You can also wrap little boxes as little presents to locate under the tree!

So…

What did you guys think! Did you make this craft? Did your kids like it! I was thinking about you when creating it, and I hope you have a fun time as a family putting it together!
