I love eating green and healthy salads!

Although spring and summer are far away, this Build a Salad Craft Free Printable came to my mind and I just had to get my hands on it and design it for your little ones.

I believe there is so much potential here and you can teach your little ones so many good things! And, you never know, after they’re done with it, they might want to eat a real salad! That’s what I call a win-win!

Build a Salad Craft Free Printable

I had so much designing this free printable. It’s so colorful and I am sure your kids will have so much building this salad.

Right now, kids are being fed with tons of fake and processed food. More than ever, we need to teach our kids what is good for their little bodies and all the benefits that healthy eating brings to our bodies. With they right approach you can educate and prepare your little ones to have a healthy and balanced diet.

Materials

The materials you’ll need for this project are very simple and easy

  • Build a Salad Craft Free Printable (Download below)
  • Colors, Crayons, Markers
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Colored card stock (optional)

What You Get!

Life is better when we have options! For this project I have a color, and a black and white printable option. Depending, on your resources and the time you have, feel free to print whatever you want. You can also do a combination of both… The most important thing is to have fun!

Instructions

First, download – down below – your Build a Salad Craft Free Printable and print it out.  If you decide to print out the Black & White version, have your kids color it with crayons, markers or paint. Once your little one is done coloring, help him to cut!

These are all the veggies he can choose from: Mushrooms, Tomatoes, Broccoli, Cucumbers, Peppers, Onions, and even croutons! YUMMY! (I am getting hungry)

After cutting all the veggies your child wants on the salad, it’s time to build it. I decided to use green card stock paper to glue all the pieces together. This is optional, you can choose other color or totally skip this step.

Start by gluing the spinach to the salad bowl and then glue the bigger veggies like tomato, onions and broccoli. Once you have them all placed, glue the medium and finally, the little ones. (This will help you to utilize the space in a more efficient way)

There is so much to learn from this craft! Take this time to teach your kids about how good and healthy vegetables are. You can also interact with him and ask him fun questions. Here are some suggestions:
