Looking for a super fun and simple summer craft? This cute and easy popsicle craft is one your kids will keep coming back to.
All it takes is a printer, the free printable template below, a pair of scissors, and some glue. That’s seriously it!
Kids get to pick their favorite design, mix and match toppings, add a little face, use different craft supplies (optional), and more to build their own popsicle!

It works wonderfully for pre-k, kindergarten, and elementary ages, and preschoolers can easily join in with a bit of adult help on the trickier cuts.
Tools & Materials
- Printer
- Template (download at the end of the article – no subscription required)
- White cardstock
- Black marker (optional)
- Beads, googly eyes (optional)
- Scissors
- Glue

Step 1 – Print Popsicle Template
I made sure there are plenty of choices so everyone can find something they love. There are four fun popsicle designs included:
- Classic popsicle
- Watermelon popsicle
- Chocolate popsicle
- Twin popsicle
Kids can print the coloring version and color in their favorite flavors — strawberry, cherry, orange, grape, blueberry, you name it!

For this step-by-step tutorial, I’ll walk through the classic popsicle, but every template page includes a little preview picture showing exactly what the finished craft should look like.
Step 2 – Cut Template
The bigger pieces are quick and easy to cut, but the little ones might need a hand with the tiny bits like eyes, cheeks, mouths, and cherries.
You can choose the happy face pieces or leave them plain — whichever your kids like best!

Tip: A simple black marker works great if you want to draw the smile right onto the popsicle instead of gluing on a separate mouth piece.
Step 3 – Assemble Your Popsicle
Time for the fun part — let’s put it all together!

Keep that little preview image handy while building. It makes it so much easier for kids to see where everything goes and helps them practice following steps.

- Glue the dripping pieces and cherry (if using) onto the top of the popsicle.
- Add the eyes and mouth to give it a cute face.
- Flip the popsicle over and glue the stick onto the back.
Now you’ve built your own popsicle — it can’t get easier than that!

Other Easy Popsicle Craft Ideas

Each one has its own bright, summery personality — perfect for hot summer days. Kids can mix and match the drips, sprinkles, cherries, and faces to create all kinds of silly and sweet popsicle friends.

Once they’re done, they can set up their own little popsicle stand and have a blast pretending to take orders and serve customers on a hot summer afternoon!
Don’t stop at the paper!
If you have extra craft supplies on hand, let your kids go wild and make their popsicles even more fun! They can use the dripping pieces plain (without the printed sprinkles), then personalize them with shiny beads, glitter, or even real sprinkles from the kitchen.
Add googly eyes for extra personality, swap in real popsicle sticks for a more authentic feel, or use mini pom-poms. The possibilities are endless!
